Drama and Theatre Studies is a popular subject at Malbank School & Sixth Form College and is delivered from Key Stage 3 through to GCSE and AS/A2.

Malbank Drama Department aims to provide their AS/A2 students with a forward thinking choice of study.

By the end of the course you will have skills to: Explore plays through the experiences of director, performer and critic; Have a rich understanding of the crucial elements that make up contemporary performances; Explore and use theatre styles and learn through performance; Be individual thinkers and informed critics.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE?

Drama is delivered as a discrete subject through Key Stage 3,4 and 5 at Malbank. As a GCSE, Drama allows students to explore performance and develop skills to enhance their acting and transferable skills useful for other subjects and careers.

At A'Level Theatre Studies focuses on two main texts practically and practitioners who will ultimately influence their creative work. A formal examination on text is combined with a devised or scripted practical assessment.
