EXPERIENCES? Students have worked in television studios, with BBC Radio and professionals from local and national venues - such as the experiences of workshops with cast from famous West End plays and musicals in major venues in the country. Everything from stage fighting, acting, music, dance, using a recording studio, set making, residential visits and working with professionals has been offered to date. "It's an amazing course because you can focus on the areas you like best - for me I love the Drama and Media, so that's what my project was based on! Really glad I took it!" (Samantha Lomas) |
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS WILL I GET? GCSE Performing Arts results in TWO GCSE Grades (one in Y10 and one in Y11) whilst AS can be continued to A2 or 'cashed in' in Year 12. This subject provides direct routes to careers in the Industry and holds UCCAS points. Students also leave with arts portfolios demonstrating their experiences as well as a Performing Arts Curriculum Vitae and Industry-entry inight. HOW IS IT ASSESSED? Coursework can be in the form of video diary evidence or written portfolio which is internally assessed. The practical is a showcase bringing together the various skills your group has focused on based on a commission from the Examination Board. |
